Red Bull May be ‘Two Seconds’ Behind Mercedes F1 Next Year: Toto Wolff

Mercedes lost the Styrian Grand Prix this past weekend, as Red Bull’s Max Verstappen bagged a back-to-back win. Hence, Lewis Hamilton has urged his Brackley-based colleagues to bring in upgrades to improve the car, so that they can catch up with their rivals from Milton-Keynes.
However, team principal, Toto Wolff is of a different opinion; he feels that the cost that comes with introducing upgrades this year is not worth it. In fact, he believes that Red Bull won’t bring in further developments either, because if they do, they will end up compromising their 2022 campaign.

As quoted by Auto Motor Und Sport, Wolff said, “We talked to the drivers about it and found a rational approach. Possible upgrades would not bring us as much now as they would cost us next year.
“Red Bull will not bring new parts until September either, otherwise, they will be two seconds behind next year be,” Wolff concluded. (Translated via Google Translate)
