It’s not every day that we get to witness history being made. Well, that’s not entirely true for the 2023 Formula 1 season, because every time Max Verstappen gets into his car for a race, he seems to be coming out of it with another record to his name. But what he achieved last night after winning the Italian GP could very well be a once-in-an-F1-lifetime achievement. Like she has been for every other significant moment in his F1 career for the past three years, Verstappen’s girlfriend Kelly Piquet was right there with him, cheering her man on.

For the unversed, Max Verstappen became the first driver in history to win 10 races in a row, breaking Sebastian Vettel’s 2013 record of nine consecutive ones. From the outside, the win might’ve looked like any other dominant performance by the Dutchman. In reality, he had to fight for it, which only made the victory and the record sweeter. Needless to say, the Verstappen camp was on Cloud 9 (read: 10, owing to his 10 wins), and Piquet couldn’t help but gush over the incredible feat.

Starting in an out-of-position P2 (because he’s gotten accustomed to P1), Verstappen had to get past the Ferrari of Carlos Sainz. In theory, that might not have seemed like a tough task considering Red Bull’s DRS advantage and Monza’s long straights. But practically, Verstappen was left surprised by the Ferrari’s top speed (and Sainz’s defense), which kept him at bay for 14 laps. Once he took the lead, though, the 10th win was just a matter of laps away, and the Dutch lion cruised to victory.

Mighty pleased with his win, Verstappen stood atop his RB19 in Parc Ferme and held up all 10 fingers, denoting the 10 consecutive wins. Along with that historic moment captured on camera, he posted a few other pictures of himself and his team on Instagram. He wrote, A 10/10 performance today, @redbullracing 🏆 To win 10 races in a row and 15 consecutive races as a team is unbelievable! 💪”

He added, “I’m beyond proud to achieve this milestone together 👏 Today, we will enjoy this moment, and then we will keep pushing for more ☝.” It was a 10/10 performance, indeed. To commemorate the occasion and show her love on Instagram as well, Piquet wrote, “10 🔥❤️❤️❤️❤️” But even before Verstappen shared his achievement on Instagram with the world, the women in his life came together to shower even more love on their golden boy.

Verstappen’s mother and sister joined Kelly at Monza

Winning 10 races in a row was remarkable enough. Doing it in Monza, with that iconic podium, made the occasion even more historic. With a win for Verstappen, given his current form, almost inevitable, Verstappen’s sister, Victoria Verstappen, and his mother, Sophie Kumpen, joined Kelly Piquet to witness Max make history.

While he was getting out of his car in Parc Ferme, Piquet recorded him holding up both hands and posted it on her story, writing, “Here’s to ten in a row💥 @maxverstappen1” When F1 shared a post with the achievement on Instagram, Victoria reposted it on her story, writing, “💙💙💙,” and Sophie did the same, and instead wrote, “You made history today🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆”
