Daniel Ricciardo stunned Red Bull Racing in 2018 when he declined another agreement, rather signing with Renault.
The Aussie announced at the time that he needed a “fresh start somewhere else”. However, it is a move that despite everything puzzles his previous team principal Horner.
On the off chance that Daniel Ricciardo had dropped Red Bull for Mercedes or Ferrari, Christian Horner could have gotten that, however, he despite everything doesn’t get the Aussie’s Renault move.

“If it was for Mercedes or Ferrari I could have understood that,” Horner states.
It was subsequently hard for him to acknowledge that Daniel Ricciardo picked Renault rather than a more drawn out stay at Red Bull. Although, Ricciardo had his intentions.
“I was disappointed at the time because I’d put a lot into trying to retain Daniel and get him to stay,” Horner said. “I just couldn’t understand his decision-making.
Christian Horner clearly admires the Aussie driver but also states his disappointment with that decision.
“I like Daniel very much. He’s a great guy. He was a great member of this team and if I take off my Red Bull hat I couldn’t understand his logic behind the move that he made.
There could be many reasons why Daniel left Red bull Racing.

The Australian, out of agreement again toward the finish of this season, was asked whether he could ever preclude a return to Red Bull Racing where he won seven F1 races.
“I actually haven’t really been asked that one!” said Ricciardo. “Would I ever rule out going to Red Bull? No… I think something I’ve learned growing up in life is never say never.
“Never completely disregard something – unless it’s going to prison or something! So never say never.”
