Daniel Ricciardo has great skills behind the wheel and also a great sense of fashion. However, instead of being disappointed not to be invited to the prestigious Met Gala, like his colleague Lewis Hamilton; the Australian was actually pleased not to have been there.

The McLaren driver feels that fashion has changed, and he wouldn’t fit in with the crowd. However, he does agree that being invited to such an event is once in a lifetime experience.

Daniel Ricciardo isn’t hurt being invited to the Met Gala like Hamilton

The 7-times world champion was the only Formula One figure at the prestigious event in New York. Ricciardo was actually glad he wasn’t called for the show as, on seeing some of the images from the event, he thought it wasn’t his cup of tea.

Speaking on the podcast, Padron my Take, Ricciardo said, “After seeing some of the images not really. Look I mean, the way some of the fashion is now, I think you probably could get away that.”

“Yeah, it’s like, don’t get me wrong. I’m sure it would be like an experience but I don’t know it seems a little formal for me,” Ricciardo concluded.

The Australian over the moon after Monza victory

It is no secret that Ricciardo had a poor start at McLaren, failing to bring in crucial results for the team. However, with his stellar performance in Monza at the Italian Grand Prix where he won the race, the Australian proved his doubters wrong.

He is hoping to do the same in Sochi for the Russian Grand Prix, and grab another win for the Woking-based outfit. Now, having found his confidence again, Ricciardo will surely get his game on and take the team to the next level, along with Lando Norris.
