Valtteri Bottas Stunningly Reveals Lewis Hamilton’s Strong F1 Desire: “If He Hears I Have Been at the Factory Two Days, He Goes for Three Days”

Lewis Hamilton is undeniably one of the most devoted Formula One drivers of all time and his stats say it all, having won over 100 races and a record-equaling seven world championship titles. And this has often left many puzzled over how he manages to deliver such top-tier results almost consistently without showing any signs of weaknesses.

One might reckon it’s the car which isn’t as shocking considering the dominance of Mercedes over the past decade. But, according to his former Mercedes F1 teammate, Valtteri Bottas, that’s not it! Instead, the Finn revealed that Hamilton has the level of commitment that none of the other F1 drivers could ever match.

During a podcast, Bottas opened up that Hamilton was punching way above his weight through the whole of 2021 in a bid to defeat Max Verstappen. How so? Well, apparently, the seven-time world champion would spend time at the factory for three straight days. Also, not to forget, the unusually abundant time he spent on the simulator.

This year, he was at the simulator almost every week, something he hasn’t done before, always going over things, and his commitment is something I can only take my hat off for. I believe that F1 maybe means more to him than it does for the rest of us drivers at the moment.”

When asked why Hamilton cherishes such an incredible love for racing, Bottas reckoned that the Mercedes hero has the fire to keep pushing himself despite being the best driver on the grid.

I don’t know. That, you will have to ask the man himself! But he has that fire. I don’t know if it comes from his youth, that he always has to deliver and get more and show everyone what he can do,” he concluded.

Overall, Hamilton may have failed to accomplish his long-dreamt target of beating Michael Schumacher’s title record last year. However, he does have a solid couple of years to try and set himself a benchmark in Formula One. But, will he?
