Lewis Hamilton was on the podium in Canada! After an incredibly tough season that saw the seven-time world champion struggling, he finally made it back to the top three on Sunday. It has been a long journey for the Briton, who hasn’t had luck on his side while facing constant comparisons with his new teammate George Russell.
There was a moment when Hamilton even overtook former rival Max Verstappen. It was nostalgic for many F1 fans, reminding several of their famous rivalry. The Hamilton-Verstappen interaction might just have been indicative that Mercedes is back in the game, and Hamilton can finish on podiums again.

Hamilton’s physiotherapist Angela Cullen apparently promised to jump in the river if the Briton finished on the podium. Unfortunately for her (fortunately for Mercedes fans), the Brit ended his podium drought at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
Get in there, Ang! 💦🤣

After Hamilton took his first podium in 2022 since Bahrain, Mercedes F1 released a video that saw Hamilton’s close friend and confidante keep her word. Everyone clapped and laughed around the two as Angela said, “It’s(water) really cold.”
The two friends are practically inseparable on the F1 grid, with Cullen keeping everything in check for Hamilton. She carries his bags and everything necessary and runs with him almost everywhere, leaving no stone unturned to take care of his health.

This season has been particularly tough on the Briton. Notably, he has been a target of heavy ‘porpoising’ which left his back numb back in Baku. For handling his incredible pain and stress, Hamilton has been very thankful to Angela. Always showering words of appreciation for her, he even claimed, “I would be lost without her.”

Can Lewis Hamilton conquer Silverstone?
Slowly but gradually, the 37-year-old seems to be making his way back to the top again. With still many races to go and half the season left, can we expect him to even win one? For many fans, it has been rather unsettling to not see a Mercedes or Hamilton win this season at all. But given their levels of struggle with the car, they’re still behind the pace of their rivals.
While the car has performed better in the past race, it’ll need to do something more for Hamilton to have a chance to stand atop the podium at Silverstone. Mercedes has been waiting for this part of the season to finally see a change, and they might just be in proximity to unlocking the W13.
