Many drivers around the globe wish to get a seat in the pinnacle of motor racing. However, with only 20 spots available each year on the grid and occupied by few of the best drivers in the world, it gets extremely difficult to reach Formula 1.
In addition, Formula 1 is a very expensive sport and the team on the grid at times needs drivers who can bring sponsorship money for extra competitiveness and for their survival. No matter how talented an individual is, if he/she doesn’t have financial backing at some stage, it’s very unlikely one can ever make it to F1.
So, ahead of the Turkish Grand Prix, McLaren’s Lando Norris admitted everyone who is in Formula 1 is lucky and privileged.

P7 finish at Turkish GP ‘the best we could do’: Norris
After securing an impressive pole position at Sochi, Lando Norris crossed the chequered flag at P7. Though at the closing stages of the Turkish GP, the Mclaren driver was displaying blistering pace and he was closing up to the back of Pierre Gasly and Lewis Hamilton. However, because of the tyre degradation, Norris dropped back and eventually finished seventh.
Meanwhile, after the race, Lando Norris revealed P7 was the best result he could achieve at Istanbul Park.
“It was a very tricky race. Just because of the conditions, it made it very difficult. How much to push on the tyres, how much not to, when to pit. It was just really up and down how the tyres go,” said Lando Norris.
