“can’t wait for players to explore the world of Outlaws”- Narrative Director has high hopes for Outlaws
In a recent publication from Kotaku, Navid Khavari, the Narrative Director of Star Wars: Outlaws spilled some insights from the game. He said, “We can’t wait for players to explore the world of Outlaws and discover any references to the wider Star Wars galaxy for themselves,” hinting at plenty of easter eggs and familiar faces. And the excitement can now be linked to the latest updates, which are as follows:

- The game is set between Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983). The director said, “Outlaws follows the Battle of Hoth at a time when The Empire is ruling the galaxy with an iron fist,” further confirming when the game takes place.
- Players will have multiple vehicles to explore the large open world, including the Trailblazer. Khavari cofirmed this when he said, “Outlaws are travelling constantly and need to be on the move all the time—that’s no different for Kay. You’ll be able to go from on foot, to speeder, to your ship and easily jump between planets.”
- Players will be able to do quests for Jabba the Hutt.
- Jobs offered will be impacted by reputation. So choices will play a huge role. “Players can use quests with each of the syndicates to manage Kay’s reputation, which will impact the jobs they offer and the impact they’ll have on throughout the story. Each player will have a different profile with each of the syndicates based on how they’ve interacted with them over the course of her journey.”
The director revealed how Outlaws brings three ranges of experiences to the community. “The first of these is dense cities bustling with activity and lively cantinas where you might find criminal syndicates and corrupt Imperials mingling together. Second is our vast, mysterious, and stunning open environments … whether on foot or Kay’s speeder. And finally, space, which players can explore on Kay’s ship,” the dev stated.
