Paige is elated by this announcement as she wrote on her Instagram Stories, “It is cool, about time 👏”

Apart from the golf beauty, many female golf entities found the news amusing as well. This includes the Tour Veteran and tournament host of the new Mizuho Americas Open, Michelle Wie West, and the GOAT Annika Sorenstam. While Michelle penned an excited “Yasss!!!” along with the news on her Instagram Stories, Sorenstam dropped a comment, “Sounds like fun” on Golf Digest’s post on the same news.

Professional golfer Tony Finau expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating that fans had been keen on such a competition for some time. Rickie Fowler and Nelly Korda have already confirmed their participation through social media posts.

According to the official website of LPGA Tour, the event will take place in December in Southwest Florida. Moreover, it has a prize purse of $4 million prize fund. The will feature 16 players from each tour taking part. 

This will be the first time since the JC Penney Classic in 1999 that the two circuits will collaborate on an event. Australian Open’s success in conducting their men’s and women’s tournaments simultaneously has provided the inspiration for this event.
