Rory McIlroy faces a shot from his ex-fiancee

The world knows about the story of McIlroy breaking up with his ex-fiancee, Caroline Wozniacki, over a short yet ugly phone call. And it was the day when McIlroy realized that he was not ready to get married yet. Nothing less than a movie, right? However, Wozniacki despite being broken apart by the news, knew exactly how to handle the matter.

There was a time when Wozniacki was asked all kinds of questions related to her breakup with McIlroy. Being the classy woman she is, Wozniacki dodged no questions and answered each one of them boldly. She even threw a few taunts toward McIlroy after their breakup.

In her interview with the famous talk show host, Graham Bensinger, Caroline Wozniacki pointed towards finding a better man than McIlroy. She said, “I would like a taller guy so I can wear high heels. I’m pretty strict with my box-ticking. I look for someone who is honest, fun to be around, and doesn’t take himself too seriously.” 

Her statements were directly pointed at McIlroy, who was five-foot-9 and is well-known to be disciplined and serious about himself and his career. After their breakup, Wozniacki even posted a picture on Instagram saying that she finally wore heels after 3 long years!

What did McIlroy tell his fans about his breakup?

Soon after he made the phone call, McIlroy made an announcement saying that there was no right way to end a relationship. He took complete responsibility for ending the relationship for his reasons. “The wedding invitations issued at the weekend made me realize that I wasn’t ready for all that marriage entails.” He also mentioned that he wished his ex-fiancee a good life and that he wouldn’t talk about his breakup ever again.
