Jordan Spieth will be teeing it up this week at the Hero World Challenge, his first appearance in almost two months. Speaking from Albany, The Bahamas, he revealed his stance on playing the Tiger Woods hosted the event and even shed some light on his personal life.

Jordan Spieth has had a big year. After a prolonged win drought of nearly four years, he finally recorded his first win at the Valero Texas Championship in April this year. A massive eight top-10 finishes accompanied this return to form. His personal life, too, saw positivity as he announced his first pregnancy with his wife.

Spieth confirmed his engagement to long-term girlfriend Annie Verret at the beginning of 2018. Later that year, the duo tied the knot in Dallas. Moreover, Spieth announced that they were expecting a child in September and Annie gave birth to their son, Sammy, on 14th November 2021.

Jordan Spieth reveals he was hesitant to play so soon after Sammy’s birth
The 28-year-old is 11th on the Official World Golf Rankings and hence, qualified for the 20-player unofficial event on the PGA Tour. However, Rex Hoggard, who is a senior writer on the GolfChannel, spoke to Spieth. To him, he also explained the health of his newborn and wife.
Talked to Jordan Spieth who is playing his first event since he and his wife, Annie, welcomed the couple's first child. Baby and mother are doing "great" but he still had to be talked into playing (by Annie) the Hero World Challenge.

Hoggard took to Twitter to reveal his learnings. He wrote, “Talked to Jordan Spieth who is playing his first event since he and his wife, Annie, welcomed the couple’s first child. Baby and mother are doing “great” but he still had to be talked into playing (by Annie) the Hero World Challenge.”

Last we saw Spieth in action was at the CJ Cup in Las Vegas, where he finished T-18.
