PGA Tour pro shares his Wimbledon experience and drops a huge update
The oldest tennis tournament in the world, Wimbledon, is a huge bucket-list moment for every tennis enthusiast. Even for casual fans of the sport, the Grand Slam tournament is as iconic as it gets. For golfer Will Zalatoris, it’s no different.
Taking to social media, he posted a picture of himself and his wife, Caitlin, watching a match at the event. The wholesome caption accompanying the post read, “Wimbledon was incredible. Bucket list day with my Love!”

Back in April, he had withdrawn from the Masters tournament because of the back pain that he had been dealing with for over a year. He subsequently underwent surgery to address the health issue.
All we know about Will Zalatoris’ surgery and his return to the greens
After turning pro in 2018, Will Zalatoris soon became hugely popular with golf fans due to his on-course heroics. His maiden PGA Tour win came at the FedEx St. Jude Championship in 2022. Zalatoris has also seen considerable success in major events, with six top-10 finishes in 10 tries across all four of golf’s majors! Last year, he got extremely close to winning the PGA Championship title but ultimately lost to Justin Thomas in a playoff.

While Zalatoris would have hoped to remedy those near-misses this year, he ultimately had to withdraw from the game ahead of the year’s first major. Soon after pulling out of the Masters, he ended up going through a microdiscectomy procedure to correct his back problem. The PGAT pro had earlier shared that he had slightly reworked his swing to alleviate the pain but ultimately had to go for surgery to ensure permanent relief.
While he is out for the remainder of the 2023 season, the fact that he is pain-free and can now start “chipping” is, no doubt, a big update for the golf world!
