Bryson DeChambeau is a contentious character in the golf industry because of his political connections and decision to forego the PGA Tour in favor of LIV. However, it’s difficult to dispute his findings. Having already won two U.S. Opens (2020 and 2024), and tied for seventh at the 2025 Masters Tournament. He just might bring another major title home in 2025.

DeChambeau’s scientific and meticulous approach to golf has earned him the moniker “The Scientist” throughout the years. According to reports, DeChambeau once utilized compasses that are now prohibited to determine pin placements. While Bryson’s golfing strategy is an open book, his love life remains a fascinating mystery that fans can’t stop speculating about.

Even though Bryson DeChambeau is still officially single as of May 2025, the rumors are still swirling. Over the years, the 31-year-old LIV Golf star has been connected to a number of women, but none of these connections have been made public.

Lilia Schneider, a collegiate golfer at Marian University in Indianapolis, is the subject of one of the most talked-about rumors. According to reports, DeChambeau and Schneider have been seen together on several occasions, including at a Chicago LIV Golf tournament. Schneider, who has a sizable social media following, has shared images that some fans think suggest a romantic involvement with DeChambeau. Nevertheless, neither side has verified these rumors.

Prior to the Schneider reports, DeChambeau was associated with model and internet celebrity Sophia Phalen Bertolami. They allegedly started dating in 2018, although their relationship was never formally verified, and their breakup is still unknown. DeChambeau was once in a relationship with Hunter Nugent. The Scientist seems to have a type; Nugent played collegiate golf at UIndy and USTA, just like his current rumored girlfriend, Lilia Schneider. After splitting from DeChambeau in 2022, Nugent revealed to OutKick that Lilia Schneider was his new major crush. Despite the public’s fascination with his private life, DeChambeau has kept his relationships mostly out of the public eye in favor of his golf profession.

DeChambeau’s collapse on the Green Mile

Bryson DeChambeau’s luck drastically changed at the 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow. He led the competition through 15 holes before facing serious difficulties on the infamous “Green Mile”—the last three holes, which are notoriously difficult. After a double bogey on the 17th, when his tee shot hit the water, and a bogey on the 16th, he dropped from the top to a tie for 8th place at 5-under-par.

In sharp contrast to DeChambeau’s effort, Scottie Scheffler shot a 6-under-par 65 to take the lead at 11-under. Scheffler’s solid play, which included birdies on the difficult last stretch and an eagle on the 14th, emphasized the value of consistency and poise under duress.

Despite the loss, DeChambeau had some brilliant moments during the competition, including a spectacular birdie on the 18th hole. Upon reflection, he recognized the unpredictability of big tournaments and the narrow margins that divide success from failure.
