Tiger Woods has been working towards the development and betterment of the game of golf. The 15-time major winner has contributed to the sport by bringing it the fame it deserved across the globe. And it has all been possible because of his undying fandom in the world. But to take things up a notch, Woods came up with his startup in partnership with his PGA Tour pal, Rory McIlroy, named the TGL league under TMRW Sports.

How does Tiger Woods and McIlroy’s TGL from TMRW Sports work?

Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy came together as partners to form a company named TMRW Sports along with McCarley. The goal of the startup was simple – to help people worldwide get access to sports. And under the same initiative, they also formed TGL, which is a technology-infused golf league in partnership with the PGA Tour.

The league will involve competitions that revolve around smart technology, and will also have live action in a custom-built space. The live telecast of the same will be done on Monday nights at prime time. As co-producers of the initiative, Woods and McIlroy will be the first ones to compete in the league when its inaugural season commences in January 2024.

Here is what all the TGL League will feature:

  • Six teams containing three PGA Tour players each will compete head-on in an 18-hole game format.
  • The venue is going to be completely tech-infused. There has been no such event before on a data-rich, virtual course along with a tech-infused, short-game complex.
  • The fans are also going to have a tech-infused experience with each shot during the live broadcast of the prime time televised match.
  • 15 games are scheduled for the season, and each will be played on Monday nights. The winners will have to compete till the end, winning through the semi-finals and finals.

Formula One driver becomes an investor in Woods’ startup

Famous F1 driver, Lewis Hamilton, is now officially an investor in TMRW Sports. The golfers welcomed the F1 fame on Twitter with warm words. Woods also mentioned that there are a lot of other “strong” investors in the group. He tweeted“I’m excited to welcome a strong group of investors across sports and entertainment to @TMRWSports. And first up to join me and @McIlroyRory on the team: F1 great @LewisHamilton. Full list coming tomorrow.”

While McIlroy wrote on his Twitter“Excited for a great group of investors, including @LewisHamilton, to join @TigerWoods and me on the @TMRWSports team!”. Fans are excited to find out what is up Woods’ sleeve with the new startup. The golfer has already been working very hard through the TGR foundation to help underprivileged kids with elementary and advanced education. And with this added step in his work toward society, he might just change the face of golf!
