Phil Mickelson’s eight year old “inappropriate action” resurfaces

In the New York Post on Monday, some very shocking details about what caused the trouble have been revisited. Last year in his biography reporter and writer Alan Shipnuck, narrated the incident. According to the book the incident that ignited the fire took place in 2015 when Mickelson invited Perez and his wife Ashley Perez, to dinner in New Jersey during the 2015 Barclays Tournament. During the dinner as Perez went to the washroom, Phil showed Ashley a “photograph of himself that she found offensive“. Phil has not made any comment on the subject.

During his appearance at the Son of a Butch podcast, Perez expressed his sentiments towards Mickelson without directly addressing the issue – “When it comes to Phil, I have a different hate for Phil than most people. Phil crossed the line with me that is just uncrossable and unforgivable. He knows that he screwed up. He apologized for the action, but I cannot forgive him for it because I’ve known Phil for a long, long time.”
