At the beginning of the year, Greg Norman was replaced. The then-LIV Golf CEO had seen Scott O’Neill take over his position, which he had held since 2021. However, despite the exodus from a huge money project like LIV, Norman has found himself involved in yet another multi-million-dollar venture. This time it involves the country, the Bahamas. This news comes after a recent scare for Greg Norman. The Australian had recently survived a panic moment during one of his flights. He was traveling from Los Angeles to Palm Beach in a private jet when a loud noise was heard. The windshield was shattered, which was where the sound came from. The crew did not take any risks and flew back to Los Angeles, where a team of first responders checked on them.
Despite the scare, Greg Norman is keeping himself busy. The former Australian pro golfer has shared an Instagram post where he has announced his partnership with Concord Wilshere Capital to design a new golf course under their redevelopment plan for their newly acquired property from the Bahamas Government, the Grand Lucayan resort, and the 160-acre Reef Golf Course.

Norman himself was in attendance at the ceremony at the Grand Lucayan resort, where the new plans were announced, and in his Instagram post, he thanked the dignitaries who were involved in the process, including Prime Minister Philip Davis and Deputy Prime Minister Isaac Cooper.
“Lead and inspired by Prime Minister Philip Brave Davis of the Bahamas @bravedavis along with Deputy PM Cooper @isaacchestercooper and Hon. Ginger Moxey plus so many other dignitaries, I am extremely proud to be part of the revitalization and redevelopment of Grand Lucayan on Grand Bahama” His caption read. Norman also shared photos of the plans for redevelopment of both the resort and the golf course on his social media.

The Reef Course, which Greg Norman will be redesigning, was initially designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. in 2000. It is one of the best golf courses in the country of Bahamas and is known for its expansive greens and fairways. The Course very recently hosted the 11th Annual Sands Golf Tournament. Norman will be looking to add tweaks and improvements on the existing structure while retaining the natural beauty of the landscape, something the team at Concord Wilshire Capital will be looking forward to.

The organisation’s redevelopment plan includes enhancing the current experience at the resort and transforming the 56-acre beachfront site into a large-scale, mixed-use resort and walkable village. They plan to open a 36-acre cruise port, which could be used by all cruise lines with a capacity of up to 10,000 passengers per day and a 25,000-square-foot standalone casino. There are also plans to include a 350-key branded hotel with 120 residential and timeshare units, and to cap it all off, a Greg Norman-designed golf course.
