Another Twitter account by the name of Fake Poulter also posted an image of Mickelson from the same day. The post read: “Phil looks like the brother no one has seen in years because he’s working odd jobs down in the Keys but came back for your uncles funeral and had to borrow one of dads suits. He’s also self medicating to get through the day of dealing with family.”

Definitely, Lefty’s suit and style wasn’t thoroughly accepted by fans. They came with hilarious comments. Some commented on his appearance and his ill-fitting suit:

One user even commented on Mickelson’s health:

All in all, people weren’t on board with his misfit suit, and came down on him hard.

Mickelson’s road to redemption

Following the start of the PGA Championship in Oak Hills, the oldest major champion, Phil Mickelson, is one of the most well-known players whose performance everyone is anticipating. Mickelson defeated Brooks Koepka two years ago to win his sixth major. But after switching to LIV Golf the previous year, Lefty stopped defending any championships that year. Thanks to the LIV golfers being allowed to play the majors, the three-time Masters champion is back to take another shot at the title.

This year, Mickelson made birdies with ease at the Masters in Augusta. He birdied the par-3 12th, the par-5 13th and 15th, and the par-4 17 and 18. In his 18 holes, he made eight birdies. He gave the lowest final-round rating ever, and, as a result, he became the oldest golfer to accomplish this milestone with his final round of 65. Raymond Floyd previously held this record in 1992, when he became the oldest to finish second at the Masters. Lefty’s remarkable game earned him the second spot, tied with Koepka.
