One of the most prestigious golf competitions, The Masters, is about to tee off. Before the fierce competition starts on Thursday, golfers engage in a few traditions such as Champions Dinner on Tuesday, and Par-3 Contest on Wednesday. The Par-3 Contest is a lighthearted tradition that acts as a warm-up before the main event’s pressure. Golfers’ families are frequently present and often are seen swinging clubs and caddying.

Its a crowd favorite and fans get to see a different side of their favorite players at this exhibition tournament. This tradition dates back to 1960, and is all about casual swings and friendly rivalries on a special nine-hole course. Interestingly, this year also included a new spin on the ANWA’s tradition on this course. So, watching the Par 3 Contest is a must for every golf fan, whether at Augusta or at home!

Everyone, be glued to your screens on Wednesday, April 10, as the Masters Par 3 match will begin, and you wouldn’t want to miss it. ESPN will broadcast the action beginning at 3 p.m. ET. Earlier coverage will start at noon to give fans a more thorough look at the event and it can be streamed on fuboTV and TheMasters.com (from 2:00 p.m.).

Even though the Par 3 competition is not open for betting at most sportsbooks, spectators can still enjoy the excitement of the tournament without the rush of gambling. Past Winners, and a few Masters rookie are in the field this year, and it is unknown if fan-favorite Tiger Woods and Jon Rahm will be playing the contest! But there is one golfer who is surely sitting out of the 9-hole tournament this year, or he is trying!

Rory McIlroy has been without a major win for 10 years, and he is now hungry for a victory on the grand stage! In order to complete his career grand slam, he is trying hard and even doing things he has not done previously. As per the reports, the Northern Irishman reached Augusta on Tuesday late at night, and he won’t be taking part in the Par-3 Contest.

It is believed that anyone who wins the contest does not win the Masters that very year! The PGA Tour pro is not taking any risks this year and surely wishes to be the Green Jacket recipient.
