Brooks Koepka had an underwhelming finish to his LIV golf season this year. His team Smash GC finished in the eighth position, as a tier 2 team. Individually, Talor Gooch leaped past Koepka to bag the Individual Champion trophy. Actually, it was a ring this year, custom-designed for the event, apart from the $18 million dollar bonus.

Now, that the season has ended, fans were wondering if Brooks Koepka would play in any tournament before the LIV season 2024 begins. Although he resigned from the PGA Tour, he can still play in the Opens and certain other events. To the delight of his fans, an update has dropped recently.

For the unversed, the Dunlop is short for the Dunlop Phoenix Championship. It’s a part of the Japanese tour and this year’s tournament will be the 50th edition of the event. It will be hosted by the Phoenix Seagaia Resort in Miyazaki, Japan.

Although Brooks Koepka didn’t win the individual championship this year, he did finish in the third position in the individual standings. Let’s look at his performance in the recently ended season.

With 152 points on the table for the whole season, Brooks Koepka finished behind Talor Gooch at number 1, and Cameron Smith at number 2. Smith collected 170 points and Gooch collected 192 points. Koepka won two events in the season in the individual category: the Orlando event and the Jeddah event. Besides that, he had two top-three finishes as well.

He did play a few events outside the league as well this year. He finished the Masters 2023, with a shared 2nd position alongside Phil Mickelson, while Jon Rahm grabbed the trophy. He finished the PGA Championship this year as the title winner. However, his form dipped as he entered the next two majors. He had a T17 finish at the US Open this year, and a T64 finish in the Open Championship later.
