As TGL Faces a Disheartening Roadblock, Michelle Wie West and the LAGC Make a Promissory Verdict

TGL had been receiving major setback after setback for the past couple of weeks. From Jon Rahm pulling out of the event a little while back to the unfortunate incident with the SoFi center, misfortune’s bitter embrace clings to the tech-infused league. And, at the center of it all, is none other than Michelle Wie West and her team, the Los Angeles Golf Club.

The LAGC had earlier announced the joining of two players into their roster not too long ago. And now, with the unfortunate roadblock because of the TGL venue and the subsequent decision by the league, West and her team have joined hands to comfort their fans amid the disappointing situation.

The new venture brought about by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, after the collapse of the TGL venue, has been faced with a roadblock. Leading them to make a drastic decision to delay the event by a whole year. And, with the duo’s brainchild facing such a situation, West, and her team representing Los Angeles, took to their social media handle to issue a promissory verdict to its fans.

A story was shared by the ex-LPGA pro, who conveyed her support for the decision taken by the league. The update was a post on the official Instagram handle of the team expressing their desire to “look forward to an even bigger and better debut” next year.

Moreover, they made sure to mention the “tremendous support” received from the fans in the LA community and the world, all the while remaining “unwavering” in their commitment to the people. Adding on, the post indicated how the team would “continue to build locally and support their incredible roster of players,” as they get ready for the inaugural season in 2025.

The new update by TGL did come off as a disappointment to all the people in the community who were looking forward to the league’s debut. However, the comforting words by the team representing LA have undoubtedly become a beacon of hope amidst troubling times for the fans and the two players that they signed with.

LAGC and its roster

The inaugural team of TGL had earlier announced two players who would join the squad for the event, which was initially set to take place in 2024. They had welcomed Collin Morikawa and Sahith Theegala to their family a little while back before the unfortunate incident with the roof of the SoFi center.

With the accident due to “a failure of the temporary power system used during construction” on November 15th and the subsequent decision to delay the same, the team has now decided to work with these golfers so that they can give back to the community.
