A major-dominated 2021 TV broadcast for golf

A far second is the Sunday broadcast of the PGA Championship, with 6.5 million viewers. The U.S. Open follows suit, third, at around 5.6 million. The Players Championship dubbed the 5th major, beats the historic Open Championship and bags the honor of being placed fifth on the list, with 4.5 million.

If one thing surprises us on the list, it’s the Ryder Cup. The biennial tournament between Team Europe and America is a very highly anticipated event that got a further boost in its popularity due to a year’s postponement in 2020. However, the special event only managed to make it to the 15th spot, with 3.5 million people witnessing it.
