Scuderia Ferrari have been on a renaissance ever since the second half of the season began. The upsurge commenced ever since the Maranello outfit introduced a new upgrade to the SF90.

Tifosi hopes were marginally lifted when Charles LeClerc clinched victory in Belgium. The Monegasque driver proved that it was not fluke, when he won the Italian Grand Prix in Monza.

Now, in the recently concluded Singapore Grand Prix, it was Sebastian Vettel’s turn at the top step. To make matters even better, Ferrari recorded a 1-2, and as an added bonus, neither Mercedes made it onto the podium.

This now begs the question, can Ferrari challenge for the World Championship? Mathematically speaking, Ferrari have every chance to grabbing the constructor’s title. With six races to go, there are 258 points up for grabs for Ferrari if they consistently grab 1-2 finishes.

Mercedes are currently holding a 133-point gap to Ferrari, and if they finish 3rd and 4th consistently, they may still have a chance. On the other hand, there is the prospect of Red Bull posing a threat to Mercedes and Ferrari.

The next few races will take place in Russia in a week’s time, along with Japan, Mexico, USA, Brazil and Abu Dhabi. So, it will be interesting to see how well Ferrari do in these races, and if Mercedes can regain their momentum. Finally, it is worth noting that Red Bull will also be gunning for victories as well.

However, for Charles LeClerc and Sebastian Vettel, the driver’s championship may be a bit of a stretch. Vettel is 102 points adrift, while LeClerc is tied with Max Verstappen, 96 points behind Lewis Hamilton. The only driver with a realistic chance is Valtteri Bottas, though with his current form, it seems highly unlikely. So, in other words, Lewis Hamilton could storm to a 6th world championship.
