Earlier, the Red Bull team were miffed about Mercedes’ domination in the recent years. However, team principal, Toto Wolff was quick to jump to his team’s defence. He confessed that he understood and sympathised with their frustration, especially in light of the fact that Mercedes lead the championship by 96 points. This mammoth lead came in the wake of five back-to-back 1-2 finishes.
While the F1 fraternity are practically stewing in frustration, F1 owners, Liberty Media are highly concerned. However, Wolff has affirmed that the German manufacturers are in Formula One for a reason.
Speaking to Crashnet, the Mercedes team boss said, “We’re really trying to perform as well as we can. We pushed the benchmark and we push the needle and we try to be better as a group every single day and every single year,”.

“I also feel that it’s bad karma if we were to really think that we are walking on water – then next weekend you’re going to get one in the face for sure.”
