The sports enthusiasts in Los Angeles had an excellent week. They got a golden opportunity to witness the synchronization of two sports icons, Mookie Betts and LeBron James, during an MLB game when the Los Angeles Dodgers faced off against the Miami Marlins. While rounding off the bases, Betts paid tribute to James with a salute. The latter acknowledged the gesture by taking his cap off for the star on the diamond, bringing the scene of greatness into the picture. However, this narrative has reached a subtle alteration.

When the Dodgers’ star saluted the NBA legend, it felt like he acknowledged him to be the greatest baseball player. But according to Betts’s latest take, that is not the case. Though he designates LeBron as a gigantic face of the sporting world, his thoughts reflect that $200 million Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest in his latest conversation.

Mookie Betts Disputes LeBron James as the Ultimate Superstar

Days after he saluted LeBron James, Mookie Betts picked up the mic again. The 7x All-Star was joined by his fellow teammate Kike Hernandez for an episode of On Base with Mookie Betts. The two fellow MLB stars discussed many things, but the highlight of the conversation became Betts’s take on the 4x NBA Champion.

While answering whether LeBron James is the biggest star, Betts said a big no. While explaining his reasoning behind the answer, he said, “I don’t know who the biggest star is, and LeBron is huge.” Changing the direction of discussion, the Dodgers’ outfielder pointed out to Kike, who has been to games that witnessed players more significant than the 4x NBA MVP, “But you’ve been to many games where huge stars have come.”

Hernandez responded, “I am not sure if I want to answer your question or ask a question to your question. What are you going to do? All right. If we’re going based on social media, then Cristiano Ronaldo.”

In their conversation, they alluded to the possibility that Ronaldo, a player of AL Nassr FC, could potentially be the most prominent star. This implication resonates with Ronaldo’s perception.

Cristiano Ronaldo Asserts Soccer Demands Greater Effort Than Any Other Sport

Regarding sports, LeBron James and Cristiano Ronaldo epitomize hard work and success. Because of this, they have prolonged their careers longer than any other athlete. And there is no stopping by, which adds to their greatness. But according to Ronaldo, though other sports require a great effort, nothing beats soccer. And because of it, he thinks it to be the best and the most demanding sport in the world.

LeBron James Makes Another Move Toward Mookie Betts Despite Age-Old Relation with Michael Jordan

While answering his comparison with James, Ronaldo said, “You mentioned some excellent athletes who have been active for many years. In my opinion, there is no other sport that has as much workload as soccer. The NBA, for example, has long rest periods, but I don’t want to expand on that.”

Though many people may not like Ronaldo’s take on other sports, it seems to incline towards Betts’s take on LeBron James. What do you think about this story? Will they be able to transform it that way? Only time will tell.
