Yankees legend Derek Jeter’s sister, Sharlee Jeter, is pretty protective of her brother. She did not want any woman to steal her brother from her. Even if it meant her confronting his brother’s girlfriend. 

She has been upfront about her feelings and was not going to let anyone hurt her brother. Her brother, the Yankees legend, is five years older than her. If she didn’t like anyone his brother dated, she would definitely let that girl know about it.

The bond between siblings is the most special one. They look out for each other even if they’re not on talking terms. Just like that, Sharlee always looked out for her brother and was rather protective of him when he was dating. There came a moment in their lives for which Derek used to tease his sister.

Why did Derek Jeter use to tease his sister?

In an interview with Sports Illustrated’s Vault, when Sharlee was about 19 years of age, she talked about how protective she was of her brother Derek Jeter, when he dated in high school. She talked about the incident for which she got teased about even after years of it happening.

“At one of his high school baseball games, I confronted this girl he was dating. I was in the sixth or seventh grade, and I said to her, ‘I don’t want you here, and Derek doesn’t want you here.’ I think I was just jealous that she was taking my brother away from me, but even now, I’m really protective,” Sharlee said about his brother.

Sharlee now works as a President in the “Turn 2 foundation.” Which the shortstop established for keeping children away from drugs.
