Nothing quite compares to the sensation of hitting a home run during a ballgame. The explosive crack of the bat, the rush of adrenaline as the ball sails through the air, and the satisfaction of rounding the bases while the crowd cheers with an electrifying roar. But it’s not just the one player who feels it. The entire team lights up with joy when they see a ball arching through the sky. Hence, the celebrations ensue; and why shouldn’t the team celebrate with an old-age tradition?

Home-run celebrations have become a beloved custom in baseball and many MLB teams have their own special way of celebrating a homer. For the Halos, it’s all about the cowboy hat. Whenever a teammate makes a grand play, the dugout rushes out to greet them with wild energy. Shohei Ohtani recently dispatched a ball flying and made his way back to the dugout, only to be met with a surprise. Instead of the familiar cowboy hat, the whole team had been waiting there for him. But this time with a sombrero in hand.

The Angels were having a grand ole time at the Coliseum, as they sent three balls soaring as home runs. As Logan O’Hoppe rounded the bases after hitting his first career MLB homer, he was met with an unexpected sight when he reached the dugout. His teammates had a surprise in store for him – a sombrero hat adorned with the Golden State Warriors logo. It was an unexpected twist to their usual celebration, but the Halos were just getting started.

In the next inning, both Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani followed up with their own back-to-back homers, and each was greeted with the same sombrero when they returned to the dugout, both their faces radiant with happiness under the enormous hat. The homers were incredible, with Trout’s shot sailing an impressive 434 feet to dead center, while Ohtani’s traveled an even greater distance of 447 feet to right-center.
