The two-way phenom blushed all the way through his answer, contrastingly indicating that he only wanted to focus on the game ahead. What actually caught the eyes of everyone was how Freeman and Betts too burst out laughing along with Ohtani in playful wordless banter and teasing.

This “normal Japanese woman” is the lucky lady. But there is more than one reason why she is special. His wife, Mamiko Tanaka, nicknamed “Mana,” was born on December 11, 1996. But it was his Instagram story that revealed the face. Then it was just easy to connect the dots. Mana, 27, used to play basketball. From 2019 to 2023, she played center for Tokyo Seitoku University, Waseda University, and the Fujitsu Red Wave. Tanaka was even invited to try out for the national team of Japan in August 2021.
