There is rarely anyone who dedicated more time to a sport than Derek Jeter. A five-time World Series champion, the former New York Yankee captain lived and breathed baseball. During the 20 seasons he played in MLB, Jeter became known for his competitive nature. While it’s a given for any athlete in any sport, the former shortstop became particularly famous for it. That nature led the Yankees to many victories and characterized his tenure as captain.

When he retired from baseball, Jeter didn’t entirely give up that side of him. With an avid interest in golf, he took his zeal to the greens. Jeter is friends with legendary golfer Tiger Woods and plays the sport at his annual Derek Jeter Celebrity Invitational golf tournament. As such, the Hall of Famer gets to witness various individuals play, whether they’re athletes or not. And he recently revealed that he enjoys watching them struggle!

Interestingly enough, Tiger Woods himself has praised him for his golf talent before, but Jeter apparently doesn’t believe him.

What’s Jeter’s least favorite thing about golf?

When an interviewer asked him what he didn’t like about the sport and what frustrated him, the former Yankee simply said, “How bad I am.”

He continued, “There’s so many things to think about in golf. You know what I mean? There’s way too many factors. You go in, it could be a sunny day, a windy day, a rainy day, …Golf is never the same. Every shot’s different.” Since Jeter plays every year at his tournament, he doesn’t think it’s right for the host to win it. But hopefully, he gets a chance to test his skills somewhere!
