On 4th October 2022, Tuesday, Aaron Judge made a significant change to baseball’s record books. Irrespective of how long the record stands, it will remain a milestone until eternity. He hit his 62nd home run of the season against the Texas Rangers on Tuesday. In doing so, he has broken a record that stood for over 61 years in the American League.

Aaron Judge entered the MLB stage as the New York Yankees outfielder in 2016. Touted as a bright prospect, he did proper justice to his reputation through his exhilarating performances. He gained prominence due to his tearaway batting skills and razor-sharp fielding. The four-time All-Star Judge is now on a mission to behold his first-ever World Series trophy.

At present, Judge is the highest seasonal home run scorer in the American League. His 62nd home run took him beyond the legendary Roger Maris. In 1961, Maris set a seasonal best home run tally with 61 home runs. Though the record got hammered numerous times, it was a National League batter on each occasion. Therefore, Judge is now the elite batter with a new league record.

Aaron Judge and the case of the priceless catch
