Well, you must have heard this before: When you love someone, you start to look alike. Well, Olivia Dunne took it way too seriously. She was all set to make an appearance at Fanatics Fan Fest in NYC, and you know what she chose to be? Well, none other than his boyfriend, Paul Skenes. And the accuracy she had might shock you; not only was she wearing the Pittsburgh jersey, but she also used a fake mustache to imitate her boyfriend.

Even though she nailed the Skenes look, her pitching attempt made it clear she doesn’t quite have the same arm strength. And, let’s be honest, why would she? She’s a gymnastics star, not a baseball pro. The best part? MLB’s official social media shared a video of her pitching, or rather her attempt at it, with the caption, “What an imitation!” And wait, there’s more! They edited it together with a clip of another baseball player. And no, it’s not her boyfriend.

“MLB MEMES, IS YOU?” Fans left totally shocked by the edit
It’s the former baseball player who has played 15 seasons in the MLB, Jose Bautista. The video starts with the gymnast trying her hand at baseball. We could see Livy Dunne trying her best to pitch, just like his boyfriend. As soon as she throws the ball, they edit it by making a seamless cut from Olivia’s pitch to a clip of Bautista smashing a home run and the crowd going wild—props to the MLB editor for that smooth transition.

As soon as the video went up, it blew up with fans who couldn’t believe that MLB’s official handle was actually posting this. Comments flooded in like, “No way the actual MLB page posted this!” and “MLB MEMES, IS YOU?” Fans are totally loving Olivia’s cosplay, but they also adore her for who she is. As a former USA national team member and a current star with the LSU Tigers women’s gymnastics team, Dunne has a massive social media following of over 10 million. That’s pretty wild, right?

And her boyfriend isn’t far behind in the spotlight either. Paul Skenes has been turning heads on the mound with a 7-2 record and a stellar 2.30 ERA over 16 starts, looking like the future Rookie of the Year. One thing to note is that while MLB is trolling her for her Paul Skenes imitation, Dunne is getting ready to share her LSU story with the world.

How much does the gymnast star earn through this? She’s made a staggering $3.9 million! Before July 2021, these kinds of opportunities were reserved for professional athletes and celebrities. But the game changed one day. As Olivia puts it, “On July 1, 2021, the NIL rule changed. That’s the day my life changed.” Indeed, it did, and now her documentary is all set to release on September 10.
Looking at the career, these two athlete couples are right, calling them a sports power couple, but the main question is, will Skenes be on the field for his game against the Mariners, or will Olivia be the one in the spotlight? Maybe she’s even channeling her boyfriend’s pitching style? Imagine if Skenes tried his hand at gymnastics—now that would be something to see! What are your thoughts on this couple?
