Damar Hamlin was involved in one of the biggest health scares last year. During a game against the Cincinnati Bengals, he collapsed with what was later confirmed to be a cardiac arrest. He was treated on-field using various methods before being taken to the hospital. One of the methods used to save Damar Hamlin on the field after his cardiac arrest was CPR. Most recently, the New York Yankees shared a sneak peek into an event the team is hosting in his honor.

It has been nearly six months since the incident, and Hamlin has fully recovered. The Yankees are lauding his perseverance and determination to survive this latest event. The Buffalo Bills’ Safety is now back in practice and looking to return to the NFL as the Bronx Bombers celebrate him.

New York Yankees honor Damar Hamlin with CPR lessons

While honoring Hamlin, the Yankees organization hosted an event at Yankee Stadium, teaching players and coaches CPR. The American Heart Association participated in the event, sending their experts to help teach it. The team shared a sneak peek into the event via an Instagram Story. Some of the Bombers’ stars interacted with Hamlin before the session. Former Softball player Sarah Taffet was also honored as she survived a cardiac arrest after collapsing during a softball game last year.

The Yankees played the Baltimore Orioles in their most recent game. Before the contest started, Damar Hamlin and Sarah Taffet threw out the ceremonial first pitches. This was another way that the Bronx-based team honored the two of them. They brought the Bombers some luck as they beat the Orioles 6-3 in a thrilling game with rocking Yankee Stadium.

Damar Hamlin and Sarah Taffet, for their courageous battle against severe heart conditions, truly serve as inspirations and deserve the honor the New York Yankees bestowed upon them. Although we hope that no one experiences a devastating cardiac arrest, CPR training would undoubtedly prove invaluable in every respect if such an event were to occur.
