Without a doubt, Bubba Wallace is one lucky guy to have married an amazing woman like Amanda Carter. With the couple tying the knot on New Year’s Eve last year, they have been enjoying a happy phase since. However, it hasn’t always been merry between the two.

During a recent interview with RollingStone, Wallace revealed that he and his wife, Amanda were going through a difficult time in 2019. He said, “Amanda and I weren’t in a good spot. And the racing side of things wasn’t in a good spot. And it’s like, no matter what you did, days were just kind of merging together, and the depression would last for a long time,”. He further added, “It was hard to get out of that funk.”

Wallace’s struggle with depression is well-known in the public domain. However, he has come fighting out of it through shining colors as he recently explained how. During his difficult days, the 29-year-old was able to find solace in a song, ‘Death’s Hand’ by the Amity Affliction’.

Elaborating on his song choice, he said, “I never had the suicidal thoughts or anything. And that song is kind of what it’s about. But it’s saying, ‘Hey, Death, get f**ked.’ And it’s saying, ‘I can beat this and get through it,” Further, Wallace adds, “That’s the way I took it at least. And so it made you feel like, yeah, I could do this. And you just kind of play it on repeat every day.”

Luckily, the Alabama-born driver found the solution before it hampered his and Amanda’s relationship. In fact, over time, Wallace has only got better at dealing with the ups and downs in his NASCAR career.
