It seems Hendrick Motorsports is running out of luck. The drivers seem to end up in one form of accident or other. Earlier it was Chase Elliott who missed six weeks due to a fractured tibia. And now it is Alex Bowman. It turns out that he will be missing out on the race at the Dover Motor Speedway, to which Brad Keselowski conveyed his sympathies.  

The #48 driver has suffered a compression fracture of a vertebra. He is expected to stay out of the grid at least for three to four weeks. The Hendrick Motorsports driver was competing in a sprint car event at the 34 Raceway, during which, he got overturned and thrown out from the race after colliding with Conner Morell.  

Brad Keselowski wishes a speedy recovery for Alex Bowman

In a public announcement made by Hendrick Motorsports, it was revealed that the 30-year-old will have to sit out the next few races. Bowman then relayed the news of the injury that he incurred during the race. “Last night I was involved in an on-track incident and fractured vertebra. First, I want to let everyone know I’m feeling ok. My focus is now on healing and resting.”

Soon, well wishes started pouring in for the driver. Even Keselowski took to Twitter to express his wishes, “Tough to read, he’s had a great season.”

The RFK Racing driver and co-owner had wished Alex earlier as well, “Not Good, Get Well Soon,” when Bowman had concussion-like symptoms.  

And in regard to Bowman’s rehabilitation, Rick Hendrick, the owner of Hendrick Motorsports, announced his intent. As reported by Motorsports.com, he said, “We’re relieved Alex is home, in good spirits, and getting world-class treatment. Giving him ample time and the foremost resources to heal is our top priority.”

Well, the question is who will come in as a substitute for Bowman? To this, the team owner disclosed, “He’s [Josh Berry] having a tremendous season, and the #48 is at the top of its game. We know that Josh is capable of in the race and that Blake and the team will continue operating at a high level until Alex is ready to return. He has our full, unequivocal support.”

Earlier, Josh Berry had filled in for Chase Elliott, who had suffered a broken tibia from a snowboarding accident. The Xfinity Series racer has so far had a good season with seven top-10 finishes from nine races. Moreover, while substituting for Elliott in Cup Series, he had two top-10s in five races, including a 2nd-place finish at the Richmond Raceway.

As Alex Bowman recuperates from his injury, Hendrick Motorsports fans will be hoping for another podium finish for Berry. Will he be able to keep up with the expectations? Well, it is only a matter of time as the next race is right around the corner.
