2022 saw Brad Keselowski flourish as an entrepreneur. For the past one and a half years, Keselowski has been playing two roles—those of a Cup Series driver and a co-owner of Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing. Hence, it can be safely said that Keselowski has higher stakes in the game than some of his peers. Naturally, he has been working day and night to ensure that his team sees a change in fortunes this season.

The outcome of the Atlanta race must have been disheartening for Keselowski, considering that the Ford consignment could not repeat the dominant run in the qualifying. However, he is working hard to make something happen that hasn’t occurred in more than 10 years, and other playoff contenders have a storm coming their way. With the race in New Hampshire right around the corner, does Keselowski have some new ace up his sleeve? In an interview, Brad Keselowski opens up about what he is doing to stir things up a bit.

Brad Keselowski could finally break RFK Racing’s decade-long unflattering streak 

Brad Keselowski and Chris Beuscher are placed 12th and 11th in the driver’s standings, respectively. If both of them manage to enter the playoffs, it would be the first time in more than a decade that RFK Racing manages to put both its drivers into the playoffs. Winning is not completely off the charts for the duo. Among the drivers who haven’t yet won a race, the RFK duo is behind Kevin Harvick. Hence, they pose serious threat to fellow playoff contenders like Chase Elliott, who is 157 points behind Keselowski. 

Reporters were curious to know if both RFK drivers get into the playoffs, how significant will be the postseason? 

“Put both cars into the playoffs for RFK would be a big moment for us. The company hasn’t done that for over 10 years. Chris Beuscher’s made the playoffs once and, of course I missed it last year and I want to get back in the playoffs.” While RFK Racing has certainly crossed a major milestone under Keselowski’s co-ownership, he is far from being done.

Keselowski is determined to ensure that the RFK cars are no longer the irrelevant ones on the track. He aims to make a mark this season, both as a driver and a co-owner. He views breaking the decade-long streak a starting point. 

“I think that would be, you know, a big chip off of our shoulders, so to speak, but we have to be really careful to not let that be the bar. The bar for me is much higher than just putting both cars in class,” said the 2012 Cup champion. When said with this much conviction, Keselowski is making a promise that should make Chase Elliott and other racers rethink their strategy. 

The upcoming Crayon 301 race in New Hampshire has certainly been keeping the racers on edge. While Atlanta was heartbreaking for Keselowski, he certainly isn’t letting that deter him. Fans look forward to seeing whether the RFK duo can turn the tables this season.
