Bubba Wallace has been one of the most recognizable faces in NASCAR for the past few years. While some of the recognition comes from a positive angle, some of it has come in the way of criticism. Regardless, the 23XI Racing is a famous man.

Bubba Wallace was well-known among NASCAR following communities before 2020, being the only African-American driver in the sport. However, his stock has jumped multiple times since his association with Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin in 2020.

Wallace joined the newly formed 23XI Racing team in 2020 and has since driven for them in the Cup Series. His fame has brought him a lot of followers on social media, with his Instagram account having close to 500,000 followers while his Twitter account has 460,000 followers.

That fame has also brought with it the curiosity of fans to know more about the driver. In an interview this year, he revealed his favorite genre in music. He said, “I like country that sounds like Tyler Childers but I don’t really see him as a country artist. For me, country is like the pop country or the bro country stuff. Sitting there with a beer in hand. I’m not really for that.”

The icon reiterated his love for country music in the new story he uploaded on Instagram. Bubba uploaded a video of the newly released “Luke Combs x Crocs” collection of the famous footwear brand.

In the story, he hyped his friend up, and said “Let’s go @lukecombs!” Luke Combs is a country folk artist who is on the rise. Combs won the “Entertainer of the Year” award at the 2022 CMA Awards; this was his second consecutive receipt of the award, having won in 2021 as well.

Bubba Wallace also dedicates a lot of time to the community

Undoubtedly, Bubba has been one of the most polarizing figures among fans in the recent past. Certain sections have not received his work against racial discrimination, in a positive light.

But that doesn’t stop the 29-year-old from doing his bit for the community. On Thanksgiving, along with Kurt Busch, Bubba (through his foundation Live To Be Different) distributed food.

Busch and Wallace went around giving food packets to the families at the Boys & Girls Club of Cabarrus County in North Carolina. The Club has been distributing food to close to 100 families on Fridays since the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted lives in 2020.

While distributing the food packets to different families, Bubba said, “I’m a product of Cabarrus County and I’m thankful to be in a position where I can make a difference. What better place to do that than at the Boys & Girls Club.”

It is difficult to use the strawman “don’t mix politics and sport” argument here. A highly commendable move from the 23XI Racing.
