Kyle Busch is currently enjoying life as a Chevrolet driver. For most of his career, he has always been associated with Joe Gibbs Racing and Toyota. So it is taking some time for fans to get used to seeing him in a different team and with a different number. In a conversation with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Busch spoke about his former team and his old teammates. The #8 driver was talking about getting drafting aid from fellow Chevy drivers. This was as opposed to when he was with Toyota, and ex-teammate Denny Hamlin was often uncooperative.

Apparently, he had a bone to pick with Denny Hamlin and took a cheeky dig at the #11 driver.

Busch told SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, “I was used to getting my feelings hurt with Denny. He never would stay. Denny’s like a kid that sees a squirrel. Like, ‘Squirrel! Squirrel!’. He’s always heading in different directions so it’s hard to keep him under wraps and keep him in line.”

“But, he’s successful at it. I give him credit that he’s successful at that. I have not figured out how to be successful at chasing squirrels, so I got to work on that.”

What next for Kyle Busch in the NASCAR Cup Series?

Last to last weekend, Busch came agonizingly close to winning his maiden Daytona 500. He got caught up in a late wreck and the victor was Ricky Stenhouse Jr for JTG Daugherty Racing. However, he was able to more than make up for it with his latest outing. At Auto Club 400, not only did he take the chequered flag, but with that, he also broke two records. This past Sunday’s victory, Busch has now won a Cup Series race in 19 consecutive seasons. The tie that he had was with none other than Richard Petty.

When he spoke to SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Kyle Busch talked about the value of teamwork. According to him, it was great to see so many Chevrolet cars. So that would be really helpful for him to try and get to the front of the pack and challenge for victory. The #8 Richard Childress Racing driver is currently chasing a third Cup Series title.
