He is an actor, a drummer, and currently a driver in the ARCA Menards Series. It’s perhaps safe to say that Frankie Muniz is capable of achieving whatever he sets his eyes on. The titular character of the popular FOX sitcom “Malcolm in the Middle” seems to be doing pretty well in his first year with Rette Jones Racing.

However, he is not coming back to Rette Jones Racing behind the #30 machine in 2024. But he has already confirmed that he will be committing to a full-time ride next year. And with that, an array of questions pop up in the minds of the racing community. Which team will Muniz join? Is Muniz finally transitioning to NASCAR? Alas, it’s all up to speculation as of now.

The 37-year-driver Muniz has one top-5 finish and 11 top-10 finishes while placing fourth in the point standings in the ARCA Menards Series in 2023. Moving on to the next season, Frankie Muniz hasn’t confirmed the series that he’ll be racing in or the team that he’ll be racing for. But what he has confirmed is that he would be bringing out news that would shock everyone out there.

One thing is for sure, Muniz is moving up to a bigger series next year. And that could be the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series or maybe even the Xfinity Series. But these are based on wild guesses. According to beyondtheflag.com, Muniz said, “I wish I could share where I’ll be racing, but we’ll be making the announcement soon! I think everyone will be pretty shocked.”

Muniz doesn’t have a win yet, but that doesn’t seem to dishearten the actor-turned-driver. He just strives to learn and get better every day. Needless to say, he seemed to be extremely confident when he said, “I’ll be moving up to a bigger series with tougher competition, and I know I still have a lot to learn, but in that same sense, I’m ready to move up and prove that I can be a contender. As a racer, you are never satisfied unless you are winning, but I’ll take the small victories of the goals we set throughout the season.”

While it’s an extreme stretch to contemplate that Frankie Muniz will land a Cup ride next season, it still remains his ultimate goal in his racing career. On that note, Muniz is already 37 and the average age of retirement for today’s NASCAR drivers is in their late 40s. So it’s not like Muniz will get the time that’s needed to establish himself as a full-fledged Cup Series driver.

Muniz admitted, “Cup is definitely my goal. I think that’s everyone’s dream, but I also know I’m pretty old to be getting into the sport. At 37, I don’t have 15 years to perfect my craft to get to Cup. I have to show I belong right away, and the only way to do that is to have results now.”

Perhaps what keeps Muniz going is his positive approach toward his life and his constant hunger to learn. And that hunger of his made him travel to Texas Motor Speedway, but not quite in the way one would usually expect.

Back in the Xfinity Series race at Texas Motor Speedway earlier this year, Muniz was seen strolling down the pit road wearing a “Muniz Racing” hat. Frontstretch’s Wyatt Watson took the chance to walk up to him for an interview. Of course, the question of the hour was about his plans for 2024.

Muniz said that it was for that reason that he was there. Although he revealed that he had a meeting set up with Ford and that he had sorted out his plans, the #30 speedster did not spill out the name of the team.

However, one thing is almost sure; Muniz will be joining a Ford team. This is the cue for the fans to filter out the Ford teams out of the roster and place bets on which team has hired Muniz. Muniz laughed and said, “We’ve got a lot of really good options on the table and just trying to figure it all out. That’s why I am here actually. Had a meeting with (Ford) set up, so just kinda figured everything out.”

According to Fronstretch’s Mark Kristl, Muniz has alliances with ThorSport Racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and could run a part-time schedule in the No. 13 truck as Hailie Deegan is moving over to the Xfinity Series with AM Racing. However, will ThorSport Racing be Muniz’s full-time team in 2024? Nobody knows.
