“It Makes My A** Look Huge” – Denny Hamlin Hilariously Shows Signs of Insecurity

Denny Hamlin didn’t have the best of times at Daytona 500 this year. Having finished in 17th place, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver surely wouldn’t have been satisfied with the outcome. Hamlin discussed the prestigious race in the latest episode of his podcast “Actions Detrimental.” Besides that, the veteran driver gave us an unexpected detail about himself.

Hamlin has always been an outspoken guy, fearing little about the consequences. This is the very reason people are so keen on hearing him on his podcast. While talking about several technical things, this time around, the 2022 Coca-Cola 600 winner also gave us an idea of one of his insecurities.

Denny Hamlin getting a little self-conscious

Hamlin looked in a jolly mood in the most recent episode of his podcast. He discussed a number of things with co-host Jared Allen including how he would like his professional headshots taken. In fact, Hamlin expressed how he would rather prefer his photos be taken with his facing angle being entirely straight rather than him looking away and getting clicked.

Furthermore, when Jared insisted on taking his photo, Hamlin got quite defensive. He quickly refused as he shared a funny experience from the last time. He said, “Oh, I had to straighten up last year. Like Jared, stop taking pictures from my ankles. No, it makes my a** look huge. Come on man!”

Hamlin went on to add some more hilarious statements. He said, “It’s like whatever is closest to the camera looks bigger. Don’t do that. I already got junk dude.” The three-time Daytona 500 winner surely gave us a glimpse of his insecure side over there. Hamlin also gave an insight into something that has been bothering fans of late.

Another interesting topic that Hamlin discussed in the recent episode was how the commercials during the race matter in the sport. The 23XI Racing co-owner acknowledged that it might frustrate the viewers but also stressed how important it is in terms of revenue.

The Tampa-born racer said, “All of our TV partners, they want the Daytona 500, it’s our most-watched event of the year. So this is where they get a lot of bills paid for what they pay for NASCAR during this event.

“It’s difficult because we’re in the middle of the play while they do cut to commercial. So, I guess they kinda get unlucky at times because a lot of crashes happen when like ‘Hey, we’re back!’ By the way, look at these cars in the junkyard here.’”

Hamlin accepted that as of now, there is no concrete solution to this. It remains to be seen how the broadcasters go about resolving this issue. As for Hamlin, he will surely be keen on having the best angles while posing in front of the camera.
