Back in 2022, when the Bush Light Clash had to take a detour from the Daytona International Speedway for the first time since its inception in 1979, NASCAR quickly put up a stellar event at the L.A Coliseum after constructing a temporary track for a three-year deal. While the first year was largely successful owing to the unique nature of the exhibition race, the venue has failed to present any further action that could top the first year both in 2023 and 2024.

But now that the contract with the L.A. Coliseum has ended and the Bush Light Clash is left without a home in the Los Angeles market, the community is laying down all their cards trying to figure out where the Clash will go next. Will it return to the Daytona International Speedway after all, or are there any other legitimate contenders? Kyle Busch wanted to find out the answer to that question, so he took it upon himself to spark a debate between the community on X.

The NASCAR community votes on the Clash at the Coliseum’s future as a return to Daytona emerges as the favorite choice

Ever since the Bush Light Clash arrived at the L.A. Coliseum, no man has come close to achieving glory and yet missed it at the exhibition race as many times as Kyle Busch has. From finishing second in 2022, followed by third in 2023, and lastly, second once again this year. It seems like the temporary track at the L.A. Coliseum just doesn’t favour Busch at all. So naturally, the RCR driver decided to spice things up on X and ask the community where they would like the Bush Light Clash to head next.

He shared a poll with the community that contained four options; “Back to Daytona 😎”, “Return to the Coliseum”, “Overseas/ Out of the US 🌍” and lastly, “Dallas Cowboy Stadium 🤠.” He also added, “Had a couple late night thoughts and wanted everyone’s opinion. Where should the Clash go in the future?” And unsurprisingly, a return to the Daytona International Speedway was the fan’s favourite choice by miles, with 61% of the votes going to the iconic speedway.

NASCAR going international with the Clash at the Coliseum was also quite a popular choice, as it found itself in a deadlock with the Dallas Cowboys Stadium, another fan favourite. Both an overseas outing and another trip to a stadium closed out voting with 16% votes each. But perhaps the biggest shock that came from it all was how low a return to the Clash at the Coliseum had ranked, garnering only 6% of the votes!

With the future largely uncertain for the Bush Light Clash, many insiders feel NASCAR must ensure it can continue to capitalize on the Los Angeles market, also pleasing the audience with a thrilling race venue. And in order to get a better understanding of what the fans really want, it doesn’t take more than a short peak into the poll’s comment section to figure that out.

While the options listed were the major talking points so far, it didn’t stop fans from coming up with other creative suggestions. This user, who shared that they wanted, “Dirt race on a REAL dirt track. No points involved ✅Back to NASCAR’s roots ✅ Good racing ✅ Special event feel ✅,” immediately caught Kyle Busch’s attention as he replied, “Another dirt W??😏”

And it wasn’t the only out-of-the-box idea that impressed the RCR star. Another user stated, “The only right answer is Bristol but make it a figure 8 through the infield,” prompting Busch to chime in and say, “Now that’s wild🎱👀” But moving on to the poll options, and a lot of the comments wanted the Clash to make an appearance at the Dallas Cosboy’s stadium, with a user sharing, “As a Cowboys fan, I humbly request NASCAR to come here because I need something to be excited about in that stadium.”

Other users who had voted for the ‘overseas and out of the United States options’ felt that Mexico could be a prime choice. A user tweeted, “I think NASCAR should try Mexico City, and a return to Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, as the next venue to give the Busch Light Clash a try at.”

And it looks like the community was still not done with the innovative ideas, with one user concluding, “Option E: Bowman Gray!” which seemed to rile up Kyle Busch as well, as he stated, “The Madhouse would be crazy😈.” It also prompted NASCAR pit crew member Justin Voss to state, “My thought too, or for the all-star.”

So while the results of the poll certainly spoke volumes of the community’s desire to see the Bush Light Clash back at the Daytona International Speedway, a few unique propositions also got applauded by Kyle Busch during the debate.
