It is a no-brainer that Kyle Larson is one of the best racers in the world of motorsport, with multiple titles under his belt. Whether it is dirt racing or stock car racing, the prodigy has swept wins on every possible race track and is also slated to run the double-header next year – both Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600 on the same day. 

His roster of achievements remains unattainable by many aspirational drivers. However, it seems that a driver of equal caliber is gradually making his foray into the scenario of midget racing. It seems that his aspirations are bearing fruit as he usurped Larson after claiming his new crown.

Kyle Larson’s crown faces tough competition from fellow teammate

Apart from his commitment as a Cup Series driver, Larson can be seen in a plethora of midget and dirt racing events across the country. The recent feather in his cap was his second title at Knoxville in early August. He led every single lap of the race after starting out on the pole.

Apart from his victory at Knoxville Nationals, his recent achievement was the chequered flag at Darlington. He was able to hold off Denny Hamlin along with the whole pack to earn his win at Darlington. Furthermore, he also broke the record for the best average finish in Round 16 by 2.33. 

However, as Michael Schumacher had once expressed, “Records are to be broken”. It is apparent that an emerging hero has made his headway into the tracks of sprint car racing, as he rose to the same level as Kyle Larson after the race at Eldora Raceway. The person being Logan Seavey, who is also the former pupil of Kyle Busch. He made his debut in the Truck Series back in 2018 under the banner of Kyle Busch Motorsports.

Seavey became the third sprint car driver in the history of 4 Crown Nationals to score victories in all United States Auto Club races. He also dominated the race at the USAC Silver Crown Series finale by dominating all 50 laps of the race. This led to his rising up to the same pedestal as Jack Hewitt and Kyle Larson.

In a Twitter post, by Eldora Speedway, the driver was congratulated for his new crown. It read, “Welcome to the record books, @Logan_Seavey! The Sutter, California natives join Jack Hewitt and @KyleLarsonRacin as the only three in history to sweep the @USACNation portion at #𝟰𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻. He seals it with a Silver Crown beatdown in the Rice Motorsports / Abacus #22.”

Treading on the same tracks as these stalwarts is surely commendable in nature for the 2023 Midget National Championship. Moreover, apart from creating history on the track of Eldora, the driver clinched a victory at the James Dean Classic.

Seavey was able to surpass Jacob Denny from the lead with just 6 laps to go in the race. He didn’t show signs of slowing down until he seized the chequer of the race, marking his fifth victory. In his post-race interview, Seavey expressed, “It felt a lot like Circle City when Cottle pulled Kyle [Cummins] off my back bumper and I was able to get back clean track again and get some good laps and run him back down. Denny and I were wheels-over-wheel in turns three and four for like five or six laps. I was on the chip for the whole straightway but SR-11 ran great all day and Denny ran a great race too.”

With a new member, it remains to be seen what the speedster has in store for its audiences. As the days for the Indianapolis race begin its countdown, the driver would be hoping to be a contender for the championship.
