Trackhouse Racing Boss Ponders Whether to Give Ross Chastain’s Car the Bubba Wallace Treatment or Not

Ross Chastain basically made history in Martinsville. A watermelon farmer in an extremely fast car made a mind-blowing move on the very last lap to propel his car into the top 4. Unsurprisingly, the entire Cup Series field was in shock when they saw the red and black #1 car ride the wall to make 5 positions to finish ahead of Denny Hamlin.

But what is NASCAR doing with his car?

Well, Trackhosue Racing boss, Justin Marks, revealed some crucial information about the #1 car, and what will happen to it. Spoiler alert- it could get the same treatment as Bubba Wallace‘s car.

Chastain’s car, which created history with a wild wall ride, deserves to be honored. While it is sitting on display in the garage, it might join Bubba Wallace’s Talladega-winning #23 car in the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

NASCAR journalist Dustin Long tweeted, “Trackhouse Racing owner Justin Marks says that Ross Chastain’s Martinsville car is on display at the shop. Says #NASCAR Hall of Fame has reached out about the car. Says will decide after the season how best to display the car so many people can see it up close..”

Bubba Wallace insider takes a shot at his boss for a missed Ross Chastain opportunity

It’s no surprise that Denny Hamlin and Ross Chastain have had their fair share of fights throughout the season. And Wallace’s spotter, Freddie Kraft, believes his boss could have taken his revenge and stayed in the top 4.

“Listen, Ross put the bumper to him two or three times in that last restart and Denny had the perfect opportunity to take care of this,” he said. “If you would’ve exacted revenge there for all the other times, he’s done something this year and you spin him or knock him out of the hill and he’s 15th coming out of the backstretch instead of 10th, you’re in the playoffs, you’re in the final four and he’s not.”
