Dale Earnhardt Jr gives his take on Rick Hendrick’s warning

Rick Hendrick‘s warning was met with an unusual response from Dale Earnhardt Jr when he talked about it during the latest episode of The Dale Jr. Download podcast. When asked about the situation, Junior offered a different perspective, seemingly disregarding the team owner’s concerns.

He stated, “If I was Rick, I would have more than likely said the same thing. But my whole habit as a man is that I’m gonna look at some even more difficult situations, some of the tougher worse situations, and try to find the positive in it, what’s good about this, right?”

Junior continued, acknowledging the potential negative aspects of the incident but also highlighting the potential positive impact on the sport. He mentioned that the controversy and storyline created by the clash between Chastain and Larson could generate increased viewership and interest in upcoming races.

He said, “Nobody loves this if you’re Larson fan or a Chastain fan, nobody loves it if you’re working on those cars, nobody loves it if you’re the owner of those cars, the damn manufacturers don’t love two Chevrolets smacking into the wall but will they sell tickets?

“For next race, we’ll probably have pretty good viewership. For next race, will this storyline carry on through the summer? You know, when we tend to lose a little steam leading up to the end of the regular season before the Playoffs. With everything we were going through, with numbers down when Chase was out of the car, we’re in a whole better place, much better place now as a sport because of what these drivers are willing to do.”
