In contrast, none of the Raptors’ starters reached the 20-point mark. Ingram’s efficiency was remarkable, shooting 76% from the field (16/21) and 72% from beyond the arc (8/11). However, it was not the most extraordinary aspect of the night.

As the final buzzer sounded, Ingram became the first NBA player to score 40 or more points with nine assists in under 30 minutes. He played for precisely 29 minutes and 58 seconds, achieving his career-high without committing a single turnover.

Joining the exclusive club, Ingram is now one of three players to score 40 or more points with zero turnovers in less than 30 minutes. The other two players are LeBron James and Stephen Curry. The highlight of Ingram’s performance came in the third quarter, where he connected on four consecutive three-pointers, contributing to the Pelicans’ substantial lead. With that and less than a minute remaining in the quarter, he added another heat check, extending the Pelicans’ lead to an impressive 36 points.

Ingram had the potential to approach the 60-point mark, but due to the substantial lead, the Pelicans opted to rest their top scorer. The victory has propelled the Pelicans to a comparable record with the Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns, securing the 7th spot in the conference.

During his surge, Ingram actively involved CJ McCollum and Zion Williamson early in the game. By halftime, the team had accumulated 18 assists, with the trio combining for an impressive 44 points. Echoing similar sentiments about Ingram’s exceptional performance, Zion Williamson also commended his co-star. Emphasizing Ingram’s impactful outing, he asserted, “You got to give 14 the ball and let him go to work. He is going to make the right play.”
