Andrew Wiggins Has Draymond Green Pissed Despite Stellar Show Against Mavs

The Golden State Warriors had a good night yesterday as they snapped Dallas’ seven-game winning streak. The Dubs used the home-court advantage to defeat a tough Mavs team 104-100, getting their fifth straight win. And in a welcome and hopeful turn of events for GSW, Andrew Wiggins was the man of the night as he led the scorers with 23 points. Interestingly, though, Draymond Green isn’t too pleased with Wiggs’ performance. Or a particular part of it.
In The Draymond Green Show, he mentions the reason for it. Green said, “I’m still pissed at Wiggs… Because Wiggs came out aggressive… right after a couple of shots he missed, he came off a screen, and he was like, ‘Uhh, who do I need to pass the ball?’ No, you go shoot the ball. We need Wiggs scoring.” Clearly, Green wants to see the confident A. Wiggs who was wreaking havoc during the 2022 title run. Needless to say, Andrew Wiggins hasn’t had the best season. And that would be an understatement.

He has had some of the worst numbers of his career and was the frontrunner during the trade season. He averaged 11.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 0.9 assists shooting just 16.7% from the three-point line in the first 10 games of this season. But somehow Wiggs managed to lock himself back in since the deadline and has remained so throughout. The numbers show a marked improvement themselves – 15.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.7 while shooting 40.0% from downtown in the last 10 games.
And then, more recently, he’s had to deal with a family matter and had missed a few games on that account. But that hasn’t affected his game as he continues to step up for his team. Aside from Wiggs’ standout comeback, Draymond Green was huge in the Mavericks win last night.

“He’s got everyone’s back”: Andrew Wiggins praises Draymond Green
There was no doubt that without Draymond Green, the Dubs had a near-impossible task of making it to the playoffs. And with the explosive forward always ending up on the wrong side of the fence, the Warriors missed his defensive prowess in many crucial games. But now, after going for way too long without much good news, the GSW is on a five-game winning streak, with last night’s victory over Luka Doncic and Co. being the icing on the cake.
A huge factor in the win was none other than Draymond Green. His brilliant block on Daniel Gafford with just two minutes left on the clock sealed the deal. Talking in the post-game presser, Wiggins was simply in awe of the veteran defender. “Draymond is special. Very special,” Wiggs said. “He’s got everyone’s back … You know he’s going to pick up any slack or anything that happens.”
