Anthony Davis is feeling the aches and pains of glory. He capped off a 120-109 win against Minnesota with an individual monster stat of 27 points, a season-high 25 rebounds, and a career-high 7 steals on Sunday night. He had an additional five assists and three blocks. But after that amazing notch in a stacked career, he gave some reason to be nervous for the Lakers going forward.

NBA reporter, Jovan Buha, spoke to AD after the game and confirmed that he recorded one of his career-best games through a painfully smarting shoulder. “Anthony Davis said he felt his shoulder at times during the game. He wore a heat pad when on the bench to keep it warm,” the reporter revealed. Davis told him after the game, “I still kinda feel it.” Could this injury hamper AD in the next game?

Ahead of the game, he was listed as a game-time decision. He’s having a productive streak averaging 24.7 points, 12.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.1 steals, and 2.4 blocks. The Lakers were at 6-4 over their last 10 games coming into the matchup with the Timberwolves. On Friday, he injured his shoulder playing against the Bucks. He dashed into Giannis Antetokounmpo who was charging forward in the end of the third quarter. The Brow was called for a foul and he also appeared to have injured his left shoulder in that incident. He returned in the fourth quarter, powered through the game, and ended the game with 22 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and three blocks. After that game, he admitted his shoulder was feeling “sore.”

He expressed his commitment to not let the injury hamper his team. Once again, he was instrumental in leading the Lakers to another win. AD and LeBron James, previously listed as questionable for their injuries, feasted on the shorthanded Timberwolves tonight. They led the team to their 12th win in 17 games. Like with every game, AD is not spending much time on his personal record and instead is looking toward team glory.

The Brow is bursting with confidence

After the game, Davis told the media, “When we’re out there having fun, everybody’s confidence is high.” He then reflected on the team’s consistency issues for the second time. “We know what it takes. It’s just about having the consistency of playing that way each and every night.”
