After tonight’s performance, Kevin Durant now has 18 games with straight 25+ points or more. The only person who is ahead of Durant in this category is The King, LeBron James, himself, with 23 straight games.

Alas, even after Durant’s heroics, the Phoenix Suns were not able to finish off LeBron James and the Lakers. Los Angeles won the game with a final score of 106-103, giving fans an epic James-Durant battle for the ages.

The entire world got to see both James and Durant turning back the clock to give them a battle of the forwards. Kevin Durant finished the game with 31 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists.

However, that wasn’t enough to take down the Lakers. LeBron James led his team with a 31-point performance of his own, along with 11 assists and 8 rebounds for the game. Nearly a triple-double.

Both teams had their other star players pour in points in a bunch as well. But only three players from each team scored in double digits. Now, the Lakers will be moving on to face the New Orleans Pelicans.
