The Boston Celtics are having a positive start to the season. After clinching a thriller against the New York Knicks, they stood their ground against the Miami Heat. But this time, the Celtic Superstar Jayson Tatum had an uncanny player of choice to credit the win. It was the first-year Celtic, Oshae Brissett, who, according to Tatum, was the difference maker.

The Miami Heat trumped the Celtics last year enroute to their finals. But this off season, they did not make any significant changes, while the Boston team went on a renovation spree. And Oshae Brisset, is one such find.

The Celtics had a comfortable 119-111 win over the Miami Heat, and in this game, all the superstars of the Boston team showed up with their contributions. Yet, the 14-minute contribution of Oshae seems to have impressed Jayson Tatum the most.

In the post-game press conference, JT lavished praise on the new Celtics power forward, who scored 2 points and 5 rebounds in this game.

The Celtics superstar declared that “Brissett’s energy got his team going, when they were in a lull period,” and further expounded that “Oshae’s offensive rebounding got them second and third scoring opportunities that helped the Celtics win this Eastern Conference matchup.”

This is the fifth year for Oshae Brissett in the league. He started his career with the Raptors, where he played for one year, and got traded to Indiana. With the Pacers he has played 65 games last season and has averaged 6.1 ppg and 3.4 rpg. And in his 2 play-in games in 2021, he has averaged 16.5 ppg and 5.5 rpg. Thus, he has some level of understanding of the knockout stages of the Postseason.

The Celtics have given up the likes of Robert Williams III, Grant Williams and Marcus Smart. And should not rely on Al Horford to gut it out in the paint at this stage in his career. Therefore, if Oshae could step in, and elevate his rebounding game, he will have a great season with the Celtics.

The Eastern Conference

Out of the 4 major contenders in the East, The Celtics have won against the Knicks and the Miami Heat. While the Sixers, despite their James Harden situation, had a very close game against the Bucks. And regarding the Bucks, Damian Lillard’s 39 points outburst helped them defeat the Sixers. Whereas the Heat not only lost to the Celtics, but also struggled against the lowly Pistons.

Miami could have had Damian Lillard in their team, yet they chose to not to pursue. Having lost out on Gabe Vincent and Max Struss, the Heat are looking quite vulnerable. However, it will be too foolish to count them out.
