Anthony Edwards has been under heat for his recent alleged abortion controversy. It has been alleged that Edwards encouraged a woman, who is not his girlfriend, to undergo an abortion. He also offered her financial compensation for the procedure. An Instagram model, the woman had posted screenshots of the alleged text messages between herself and the Minnesota Timberwolves star.

While Ant responded by acknowledging that his comments were made in the “heat of the moment”, he also mentioned that he’d like to resolve this matter privately. Reacting to the whole incident, Gilbert Arenas gives his two cents on compartmentalizing the off-court issues faced by NBA players.

Or it’ll be gone by the time I wake up, depending on how long the nap is,” she says.

On a different note, but on the same topic, Stephen A. Smith also addressed the Anthony Edwards issue.

While there was more than enough spotlight on the alleged controversy itself, Stephen A. Smith took a different direction. He acknowledged that Edwards’ apology was because he was a public figure. But what he still cannot wrap his head around is the fact that there are no repercussions for violation of privacy.

What anybody does with their body is not something others have a say in. However, he said, “Respectfully, that’s his business.” The woman identified as Paige Jordae had posted the alleged conversations for the entire world to read. But as far as Stephen A. is concerned, she did it to “humiliate him” and “compel him to think the way she wants him to think”.

Anyway, this issue has yet to reach a decision. With the regular season in full swing, the Timberwolves cannot afford to have their star player unfocused. Hopefully, he can make use of some pointers from the Gil’s Arena crew to stay locked in during the game.
