The hopes of the Memphis Grizzlies came crashing down as their star player, Ja Morant, suffered a season-ending injury. The 24-year-old point guard had just made his comeback after his 25-game suspension. However, after playing just nine games, the 2x All-Star is going to be out for the rest of the season.

This will have a big effect on the Memphis Grizzlies’ performance as they were not looking in good shape till he came and, as he took over, they started to win matches. Even the ESPN commentator, Skip Bayless, who has been a critic of Ja Morant, was sad to see him injured for the rest of the season.

Skip Bayless and Richard Sherman were discussing injuries and Sherman explained what happened with Ja Morant and shared that when it happens, something usually tears. To this Bayless said, “He is a smaller man who can reach Iverson heights when he goes up. Inch for inch there is no better leaper in the NBA than Ja, but what goes up must come down. So maybe we have too many high-flyers decent to hit the hardwood.”

Bayless further praised him and said he was “in awe” of the impact Morant had on the Grizzlies when he returned after his suspension. His performance against the player who was picked before him Zion Willamson was incredible. “His teammates had been horrible without him,” said Bayless about the Grizzlies until Morant stepped in and converted them into a near-playoff team.

Now Bayless has been a critic of Morant and has called him out on numerous occasions. When Ja said that he could cook Michael Jordan in a 1v1, Bayless said, “Maybe you’ll cook for Jordan, but you won’t cook Jordan.” Even when Morant quoted a rap lyric after the Grizzlies had won a match, Bayless just ripped him apart by saying it was not a good sign on his part. However, looking at his recent developments, even Bayless looks to have become a fan of Morant’s talents.

However, after suffering a subluxation of his right shoulder during practice, he is going to be out for this entire season. This means that the Grizzlies are back to square one without their cornerstone. So, now how do you think the Grizzlies’ rest of the season will pan out? Let us know in the comments below.
