As he advances toward the 2023 Wimbledon final, up-and-coming tennis sensation, Carlos Alcaraz keeps delivering the goods. His most recent victory came in the semifinals, where he displayed his extraordinary talent to the English crowd yet again. Earlier, NBA superstar Jimmy Butler hinted that he’d be at the game, but then showed up to everyone’s surprise.

Now, days after fanboying over the tennis prodigy, Butler showed some love for tennis on his Instagram stories as the Wimbledon final edges ever closer.

Jimmy Butler was one of the many admirers of Spanish tennis prodigy Carlos Alcaraz and his captivating performances. Butler promised that he would attend Wimbledon to see Alcaraz in play before his semifinal match.

True to his word, the Miami Heat icon not only attended the important event, but also delighted in Alcaraz’s triumph as he soaked up the atmosphere. But if attending the match wasn’t enough, Butler took to Instagram to show his love for the sport.

‘Buckets’ shared a story on his Instagram, where he was clad in a tennis fit with a huge grin on his face. Satisfying the tennis attire, his fit included an iconic reversed cap with a racket in one hand.

Butler’s seemingly endless sponsorship engagements might keep him out for Alcaraz’s all-important final. But the 33-year-old will undoubtedly support his Spanish buddy, with whom he shares a long-time friendship.

Butler and Alcaraz – A friendship beyond borders

As it turns out, they have more in common than just a shared love of sports. Alcaraz once claimed in an interview with Marca that Butler is a big tennis enthusiast.

Back in the day, when Butler said she wanted to see Alcaraz’s championship match in Buenos Aires while on vacation, the two athletes became close. Since then, their friendship has developed because of the latter’s frequent visits to NBA games in Miami and vice versa.
